What is a Gentleman? If you Google this question you get the dictionary result – a gentleman is a chivalrous, courteous, or honourable man. A little-known fact about me is that I am a lover of period drama. In fact, I often believe I was born in the wrong generation or perhaps have already lived in a prior one (oo-er, bit creepy)! You see, I love a ‘gentleman’ and thankfully for me I married one almost 8 years ago. I love the romanticism of the little chivalrous acts he does for me. My doors are opened, he walks nearest the cars in a street, he’s kind and polite (ok we have the odd spat but who doesn’t) and he is definitely honourable. I personally (and I am sorry feminists) love some of the old-fashioned ways of yesteryear and think it’s important not to lose them all. So, when it comes to buying for the shop I am very much buying for a ‘gentleman,’ a man who deserves to be treated for treating me so kindly. Gifts for him are tricker I think than us ladies, especially for a chap with no sporting hobby or interest but there are good gifts for men out there – and here’s a few of our favourites.
